My friend emailed yesterday and said that she is still undecided about who to vote for. I'm sure alot of people are...there's so much BS flinging back and forth its like impossible to figure out who is who and what is what.
So, some great websites to help you in your quest to elect the best...
http://obama-mccain.info/index-obama-mccain.php - This one is awesome. Its a side by side comparison of both candidates and it goes issue by issue, and even has personal stuff like education, family, and useless trivia. So, if you're concerned about an issue -- say, energy or stem cell research -- this is the place to go to find the correct answers about how the candidates' positions.
http://www.factcheck.org/ - This website is dedicated to debunking things you hear on the news, internet, blogs, etc. It takes on big issues like the acceptance speeches of the candidates all their "promises", as well as urban legends, like Obama being a Muslim. Its non-partisan too, so you don't feel like its all one-sided.
http://www.cjr.org/ - The Columbia Review. Its a little dry, but its highly recommended by the guys who used to do spinsanity.org, which was one of my favorite sites a few years ago. One of the guys who had this website, and wrote one of my favorite books, "All the Presidents Spin" also works there.
http://www.votesmart.org/ - This one has a TON of information on other candidates, as well as the Presidential race. Its also got voting records, which if you're into that kind of thing, has its merit. Its more useful if you're looking for information about local congressional races or trying to get primary results and ballot measure information.
I always say I don't care who you vote for as long as you vote; that's a little less true this year because I think that McCain-Palin are only going to do bad things for me, my state and my family -- and that's me being selfish. I don't see them taking care of things I care about, and I've been on the Obama band-wagon since '04.
But at the very least, get informed.
